How do I make my laptop battery last longer off power?

To put it in simple terms, I keep my laptop constantly charging with the power cable and hardly ever just use the battery because it doesn’t last very long without the charger in.

I’m getting a new notebook delivered tomorrow and I’m wondering what the best methods are for fantastic battery life? For example, I’d like to take it to college with me and maybe to coffee shops for a few hours. How do I make it last without having to keep it on constant charge?

Well the brightness of the screen, make sure it’s not too bright. Another way is when your computer battery is full, unplug it and plug it again when it’s at 20% or so because by keeping it continuously charging wares op the battery.
